Kathmandu: India has defeated Nepal by 23 runs in the quarter-final of the 19th Asian Games.
Nepal was unable to complete the target of 203 runs. Nepal only scored 179 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee added 32 runs in 15 balls. Sundeep Jora added 29 out of 12 balls.
Kushal Bhurtel added 28, Kushal 29, and Karan KC 18 runs for Nepal. Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan took 3-3 wickets for India.
In the first innings, India scored 202 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 100 and Rinku was unbeaten at 37 runs for India.
Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets for Nepal. Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami took 1 wicket each.
With this, Nepal’s journey has ended in the quarterfinal of the Asian Games. India has entered the semifinals.
