Kathmandu: Six people, including an Indian billionaire and his son, have died in a plane crash.

Indian billionaire Harpal Randhawa and his son were among the deceased ones, in the crash near a diamond mine in Southwestern Zimbabwe.

According to media reports, the private plane crashed due to a technical fault. The plane, a Cessna 206 aircraft owned by RioZim, was flying from Harare to the Murowa diamond mine.

The Zimbabwean media reported that the plane crashed in the Zvamahande area of Mashaba, Harare on Friday. The single-aired plane might have experienced a mid-air explosion.

Randhawa is the owner of RioZim, which is a mining company. The company is popular for the production of gold and copper as well as the refinement of copper and nickel. Randhawa even founded the private firm GEM Holdings with an equity of $4 billion.
