Nepal Teachers Federation rejects negotiation with government

Kathmandu: Nepal Teachers Federation has rejected the government’s request to negotiate regarding their protest against the school education bill registered in Parliament.

The Federation, declining the request of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, announced to shut down all schools across the nation starting from Wednesday. It decided to start an even stronger movement rather than going for negotiation.

On Monday, the Ministry called the federation to postpone the demonstration and came up for negotiation. The Federation announced the protest after showing dissatisfaction with 18 points.

The Federation said that there was no propriety in the negotiation as in previous negotiations but was ignored while introducing the bill.
