Mayor Balen Shah in 2023 Time100 Next

Kathmandu: Times Magazine has listed Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Mayor Balen Shah in 2023 Time100 Next emerging leaders shaping the world.

The magazine enlisted Mayor Shah on the list, seeing the potential of shaping his area in the upcoming day. Shah had won the local-level elections with more than 63 thousand votes to be elected as the Mayor of KMC in May 2021 (Baisakh, 2079 B.S.)

Times has introduced Balen as an influential independent leader, who succeeded in starting a wave for candidates to participate independently in the election. The magazine has defined his strength of channeling the dissatisfaction of people towards the government to win the election.

Times defined it as a ‘Balen effect‘ in the short introduction of Balen. It also talks about Balen being committed to scientific waste management, clean drinking water, clean roads, and conservation of world heritage sites.

Times, which had been listing 100 influential leaders, started listing 100 emerging leaders in 2019 A.D. The magazine incorporates six genres to create a list of 100 impressive personalities. It includes personalities including scientists, chief executive officers, artists, and astronauts.
