MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo passes away

Kathmandu: Jock Zonfrillo, the award-winning chef and judge of MasterChef Australia, has died at the age of 46. His family confirmed Zonfrillo’s death on Monday.

The actual cause behind the death of Zonfrillo has not been disclosed. The Police spokesperson from Victoria confirmed that it was not a suspicious death.

Network 10 also confirmed the death of Zonfrillo and announced the postponement of the airing of the premier episode of MasterChef Australia.

Zonfrillo was born in Glasgow in 1976. He started working in the kitchen when he was 12 years old. Zonfrillo was the youngest apprentice to work in The Turnberry Hotel. He was only 15 years old at that time.

His restaurant ‘Orana’ also won the Adelaide’s Award. His restaurant closed down in 2020. He also wrote a memoir ‘Last Shot’ in which he shared his struggle with drugs.

Zonfrillo became part of MasterChef Australia in 2019.
