‘Manmohan Adhikari-an honorable personality among communist leaders and Prime Ministers’

Kathmandu: Manmohan Adhikari is an honorable, respectable, and significant leader of the Nepal Communist Revolution. The chapter on revolution is incomplete without him. I am not saying this just because the revolution had been completed. Adhikari is regarded as a vital and non-separable personality while discussing the chapter of the Communist Revolution in Nepal. His name cannot be and should not be separated even in the demonstrations till now.

And no one can forget him as the head of the first elected communist government. His tenure as the first Communist Prime Minister was successful. Adhikari succeeded in grabbing the attention by leading the government with good deeds, stressing optimistic projects, and establishing himself as an example within a short span of time. This made him and the government people’s favorite and gained popularity. That’s why he is regarded as an honorable and successful personality in Nepali Politics.

Additionally, while talking about my personal relationship with him, he was a simple man and used to love and trust me a lot. As a result, he included me in the government in 2051 B.S. I was appointed Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and General Administration then. He always used to provide the love, suggestion, and advice that a leader must shower. I have shared a special bond with him. I respect him.

I clearly remember that it was the house of Manmohan Adhikari when I had put Tika outside my home for the first time, that was from his hand. I used to treat him as my guardian. And he used to count me as a part of his family member. It is also one of the reasons for me to respect him. That’s the personality of Adhikari.

Likewise, I have already mentioned the fact that he was not only the PM of the Communist government but was one of the unforgettable leaders and prime ministers till now. This is one of the prime reasons that people still give the example of Man Mohan Adhikari whenever there is a context of a successful government and prime minister. That clearly reflects the popularity of Adhikari as Prime Minister/leader and one can imagine the benchmark set by the then government under his leadership. His government was free from conflicts and popular among people.

Similarly, I am a person who has closely understood, recognized, and felt Adhikari. His personality cannot be summed up in a few words. He was a very polite and simple person. Adhikari was not only vital for the party but was also one of the significant national personalities. He contributed to a lot of work and attempted various tasks to address the feeling of change and desire in the people. As a result of his contribution, a lot of people believe that CPN (UML) had been still reaping the good deeds planted by the then government led by Adhikari. The fact cannot be omitted that Adhikari’s aspiring contributions had been crediting and appreciating the image of UML till now.

Therefore, Adhikari is not only a remarkable personality but also a successful Prime Minister. But, unfortunately, he passed away early. I take his death as bad luck.  His loss not only created huge setbacks for the party but also for the nation. Hence, people respect him not only as an integral and honorable leader of the Nepal Communist Revolution but of the whole nation and the system. I understood him and read him in the same way. We should pay tribute to him in the same manner. I pay heartfelt respect and condolence to him.
