Rabi Lamichhane leads with wide margin in Chitwan-2

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party’s candidate Rabi Lamichhane has been leading the vote count with wide margin.

So far, Lamichhane has collected 41,504 votes while his closest contender Jit Narayan Shrestha of Nepali Congress got 7,695 and CPN UML candidate Ram Prasad Neupane collected 7,399.

By-election was held in Chitwan-2, Bara-2 and Tanahun-1 on Sunday.

Rastriya Swatantra Party’s candidate Dr Swarnim Wagle has won the by-election in Tanahun-1 with huge marginby securing 34,911 votes. His nearest contender Govinda Bhattarai of the Nepali Congress collected 20, 122 votes, while CPN UML candidate Sarbendra Khanal got 8,488 votes, according to assistant election officer, Min Bahadur Kunwar.

In Bara-2, Janata Samajbadi Party’s candidate Upendra Yadav is leading the vote count. He has garnered 10,327 votes while his closesest rival and candidate of Janamat Party Shiva Chandra Kushwaha has got 6, 812 votes.
