By-election in Tanahun-1: Wagle and Khanal unable to cast their votes

Kathmandu: Voting in Tanahun-1 for by-election is underway in a peaceful manner.

By-election is being held today in Tanahun-1 after Nepali Congress lawmaker Ram Chandra Poudel was elected as the President. A total of 11 candidates are vying in this constituency for the member of the House of Representatives.

CPN-UML’s Sarbendra Khanal, Nepali Congress’s Govinda Bhattarai and Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Swarnim Wagle are seen as the main contenders in Tanahun-1.

But Wagle will not be able to vote for himself as his name on voter list has been registered outside Tanahun district. Likewise,  Khanal will not be able to cast his vote for the same reason.
