Nepal starts ACC Premier Cup with victory over Malaysia

Kathmandu: Nepal has started the ACC Premier Cup 2023 with a victory over Malaysia.

Nepal defeated Malaysia by 6 wickets in the match held at the T.U. International Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Nepal chased the target of 237 runs from Malaysia by losing 4 wickets playing 36.2 overs.

The half-century of Bhim Sharki and Kushal Malla played a vital role in the victory of Nepal.

Bhim smashed 5 boundaries to score 71 runs out of 98 balls. Kushal shot 5 boundaries and 5 sixes to score 70 runs out of 40 balls.

Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel contributed 42 and Kushal Bhurtel 38 runs in the victory of Nepal.

Malaysia bowlers- Muhammad Wafiq, Rizwan Hader, Virandeep Singh and Vijay Unni, each took a 1–1 wicket.

Previously, Malaysia has set a medium target of 236 runs for Nepal in the first innings.

With the loss of 9 wickets in 50 over, Malaysian team scored 235 runs. Malaysian captain Ahmad Faiz scored half-century. He collected 76 runs out of 95 balls with 8 fours and 1 six.

Likewise, Virandeep singh made 46 runs out of 94 balls. While Khizar Hayat, Syazrul Idrus and Muhamad Syahadat scored 22, 21 and 15 runs respectively. Whereas syed Aziz made 13 and Vijay Unni 12 runs for Malaysia.

Nepal’s bowlers Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamicchane each took 3 wickets. While Lalit Narayan Rajbashi and Gulshan Jha bagged 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
