Chorepatan Youths Step Up to save Phewa Lake’s Beauty (Photos)

Kathmandu: Pokhara is not only a top destination for domestic tourists but also for international travelers.

Among its many attractions, Phewa Lake is especially captivating. Who wouldn’t enjoy a boat ride on the lake that reflects the shadow of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountain?

However, the increasing pollution in Phewa Lake is disheartening for visitors. Waste, especially plastic and other litter, has impacted the lake’s beauty. The Damside area, in particular, faces a significant garbage problem.

To preserve the charm of Phewa Lake, some youths from Chhorepatan have taken the initiative. While removing trash from the lake, they are also raising awareness against littering.

A group of about 20 individuals has collected a large amount of waste from the Damside area. They clean the area regularly, but the trash piles up again within a few days.
