Trishuli River Floods: Two Bodies Recovered

Dhading: Two bodies have been found in separate locations in Dhading.

The water level in the Trishuli River surged following flooding from the upper region of Nuwakot. The bodies were discovered in Belkhu of Gajuri Rural Municipality–6 and Keureni of Galchi Rural Municipality–2.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Subash Hamal of the District Police Office, both bodies are of men. Since early this morning, the water flow in the Trishuli River has increased significantly.

A body being cremated on the banks of the river at Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality–7 in Dhading was also swept away by the sudden flood. Resident Kumar Basnet reported that the flood came unexpectedly during the cremation and swept away both the pyre and the body.

A joint notice issued by the District Administration Offices of Dhading, Nuwakot, and Rasuwa states that due to heavy rainfall on the night of Asar 23 (July 7), the water level in the headwaters of the Trishuli River has risen significantly. Residents living near the riverbanks have been urged to exercise extreme caution.

People are also requested to immediately inform nearby security agencies of any potential floods, landslides, or other natural disasters.
