Kathmandu: Nepal has bagged the title of U-16 ACC East Zone Cup title.

In the final match held on Saturday at the UKM YSD Oval in Malaysia, Nepal defeated Singapore by 2 wickets, clinching the championship for the second consecutive time.

In the previous edition, Nepal had become champions by defeating Malaysia by a massive 221 runs in the final. Chasing a modest target of 114 runs set by Singapore, Nepal reached the target in 29 overs, losing 8 wickets.

For Nepal, Joy Thapa scored 24 runs, Shivansh Bajgain made 20, Shubham Khanal contributed 18, and Prasiddha Jaishi added 17 runs. For Singapore, Kapish Venkatratnaman took 4 wickets.

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Singapore were bowled out for 113 runs in 40.5 overs.

For Singapore, Rohan Austin Arun scored 23 runs, while captain Riyan Nayak made 15 off 11 balls, hitting 3 fours. Other batters failed to make a significant impact.

For Nepal, Abhay Yadav and Sushil Rawal took 3 wickets each. Shubham Khanal picked up 2 wickets, and Bipin Sharma took 1.
