Bridge on Banepa–Nala Road Collapses (Photos)

Kavrepalanchok: Transportation has come to a complete halt on the road following the collapse of a bridge located on the border of Wards 4 and 1 of Banepa Municipality.

The bridge, constructed 45 years ago as an alternative to the Araniko Highway’s Sanga–Dhulikhel route, has now collapsed.

As a result, vehicles traveling through Banepa and Nala to enter the Kathmandu Valley have been caught in traffic jams.

Similarly, locals who relied on the same bridge for daily movement are now forced to take risks while crossing the damaged area on foot.

Currently, a sky excavator (hydraulic machine) is being used to dismantle and remove the remains of the collapsed bridge structure.
