Students celebrate 22nd National Paddy Day (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: 22nd National Paddy Day has been marked across the nation.

Nepali month Asar marks the beginning of paddy plantation. So 22 years ago, the government declared Asar 15 as National Paddy Day.

On the occasion of the 22nd National Paddy Day on Sunday. The students of Uttar Bahini Boarding School, Gorkaneshwor-4, and Bright Learn Academy, Gorkaneshwor-6, celebrated National Paddy Day by planting paddy.

Uttar Bahini Boarding School’s teacher, Shiv Hari Shrestha, said nowadays, arable land is decreasing in the Kathmandu area, and to provide the next generation with practical knowledge about rice planting from the school level, students were included in the Rice Day celebration.
