Kathmandu: The Tikabhairab–Hetauda Road (Kanti Lokpath), which connects the federal capital Kathmandu to Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province, has become the busiest route at the moment.

In recent times, due to issues on the BP Highway, vehicles traveling towards the east via Hetauda have also started using this road. Currently, due to the risk of flooding, vehicular movement on the BP Highway is prohibited from 6:00 PM to 5:30 AM.

Even the Tikabhairab–Hetauda Road is not risk-free either. Between Tikabhairab and Bhimphedi (Bagmati Bridge), landslides occur frequently. During rainfall, the road becomes muddy, causing vehicles to get stuck, and heavy mist significantly reduces visibility.

Similarly, between Bhimphedi (Bagmati River) and Makawanpur Gadhi, dry landslides and falling rocks occur at several spots. Road construction work is also underway in the area.
