Kathmandu: The transformation of Sano Gaucharan Football Ground, located near Gyaneshwar in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-5, into a well-equipped sports stadium is underway
Construction work is progressing rapidly to build a modern sports venue with a seating capacity for approximately 25,000 spectators.
The foundation stone for the stadium, which is being built on roughly 18 ropanis of land, was laid by Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol on November 28, 2024 (Mangsir 13, 2081).
Shubha Nirman Sewa is handling the construction, costing Rs. 188.7 million. The stadium will be equipped with artificial turf, solid fencing, team changing rooms, a medical room, restrooms, and parking facilities.
According to the construction company, roughly 50% of the work has been completed so far. The ground will be 96 meters long and 62 meters wide. There will be parking spaces for 28 four-wheelers and 178 two-wheelers.
