Nepal defeats Scotland by 2 wickets

Kathmandu: Nepal has defeated Scotland by two wickets in the ongoing Scotland T20I Tri-series.

In the match held at Titwood Ground in Scotland, Nepal chased down the target of 98 runs set by Scotland in 19.5 overs, losing eight wickets in the process.

Opener Kushal Bhurtel contributed 30 runs to Nepal’s victory. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 14, Basir Ahmad made 13, and Kiran Thagunna added 10 runs, while the other batters failed to reach double figures.

For Scotland, Michael Leask and Safyaan Sharif took two wickets each, while Brandon McMullen, Mark Watt, Jack Jarvis, and Jasper Davidson each claimed one wicket.

Batting first, Scotland were bowled out for 97 runs in 19.4 overs. Michael Leask was the top scorer with 46 runs, hitting four fours and a six in his 46-ball stay. Captain Matthew Cross made 15, and Brandon McMullen scored 10 runs.

In bowling, Sandeep Lamichhane starred for Nepal, taking four wickets, while Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee picked up two wickets each, and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took one.

Notably, Karan KC completed 100 wickets in T20 International cricket during this match, becoming the second Nepalese bowler to reach the milestone after Sandeep Lamichhane.

Sandeep Lamichhane was named the Player of the Match.
