Kathmandu: The play “Dalle Khola,” has been running regularly at Shilpee Theatre in Battisputali since June 29 (June 12).

Based on the renowned story “Dalle Khola” by writer Parashu Pradhan, the play is also included in the Grade 8 Nepali curriculum. Centered around the Dalle Khola River in the Khotang district, the play powerfully exposes the corruption carried out by local elites in the name of the river during the Panchayat era. Highlighting the grim reality of corruption embedded in society, the play delivers a profound message to its audience.

This production marks the first presentation by Ek Theatre Nepal. Saujan Senehang produced the drama. Theatre artist Vedana Rai is the director of the play. The concept credit also goes to Rai.

The play features compelling performances by Umesh Sunam, Amit Magar, Ranjana Nepali, Rachana Magar, Regina Rai, Sohang Rai Thulung, Swarnim Chamling, Oshin Gurung, Pushpanjali Timling Limbu, Ramita Rai, Akash Suhang Limbu, Anjana Thulung Rai, Numa Rai, Prakriti Thulung Rai, Priti Chamling Rai, Yugal Shrestha, and Saroj Khaling Rai.

The staging of “Dalle Khola” will continue until Asar 14 (June 28). Except on Tuesdays, the play can be viewed every evening at 5:15 PM, with an additional show on Saturdays at 1 PM.
