Air India aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad

Kathmandu: An Air India aircraft has crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

An aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad on Thursday. BBC cited Air India as saying Flight AI171, operating Ahmedabad-London Gatwick, was involved in an incident today.

The AP news agency cited the chief of India’s directorate of civil aviation as saying 232 passengers and 12 crew members were on the aircraft.

Tracking website Flightradar24 said it received the last signal from the aircraft at 625 feet (190m) “just seconds after take off”.
