Farmers, having fields on the banks of the river, begin paddy plantation in early May (Jestha), as they don’t have to only on rainwater.
Kathmandu: Farmers are busy with paddy plantation in Gokarneshwor.
Although the month of Asar is considered ideal for the plantation, farmers began their plantation as the monsoon became active in mid-May (Jestha). With the increasing urbanization, the arable lands are decreasing. However, farmers continue the plantation in the fields along the banks of rivers.

Farmers, having fields on the banks of the river, begin plantation in early May (Jestha), as they don’t have to only on rainwater. Likewise, farmers have been using the water from the Bagmati River, using a water pump, for the plantation.
