Government increases age bar to receive old age allowance

Kathmandu: The government has increased the age bar for receiving old age allowance.
Presenting the upcoming fiscal year budget on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel said the age for receiving old age allowance has been raised to 70 years.
However, he said the old age allowance to the inaccessible and targeted group remains the same. The government before, used to provide an old age allowance to people aged 68 years.
