NC meeting demands to seek clarification from leaders asking Home Minister’s resignation

Kathmandu: In the Nepali Congress (NC) meeting, a demand was made to seek clarification from leaders Shekhar Koirala, Sunil Sharma, and Rajendra Bajgain, who had called for Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak’s resignation.

NC Leader Shashank Koirala said that the demand for clarification was made because they had continuously spoken against the party’s policy. Leader Koirala said that they were attempting to create conflict, prompting the call for clarification.

‘There is no benefit to anyone if they clash with each other. It won’t benefit the Congress either. So we have said, call them and ask what they meant by their statements. That’s why I said they should be asked for clarification,’ he said.

Shashank said that party president Sher Bahadur Deuba said he would look into the matter later.

Shekhar Koirala had expressed the view that the Home Minister should resign to help prove his innocence through an investigation.

Similarly, MP Sharma stated that since Ramesh Lekhak is an idealistic leader, he should resign before the Parliament session opens and assist in forming a committee to investigate himself.

MP Bajgain had also written a letter to president Deuba demanding the removal of both the Home Minister and the Tourism Minister. The letter stated that they should be removed to protect the party’s image.
