Makhan Tole’s fire brought under control (Photos)

Kathmandu: The fire that broke out in Makhan Tole has been brought under control.

The fire was brought under control with the efforts of Nepal Police, Nepali Army and Metro police.

According to the Kathmandu District Police Office, the identity of the deceased woman is yet to be confirmed.

The fire started on Wednesday morning in a house located at Mahadev Chowk in Makhan Tole, Ward No. 24 of the metropolis.

The fire also spread to a neighbouring house. Initially, the fire broke out in a four-story traditional house made of mud and wood belonging to Dayaram Shrestha in Makhan Galli. The flames later spread to a five-story concrete house next to it, owned by Rukesh Shrestha.

According to Kathmandu police, the fire started due to a gas leak on the third floor of the house.

The fire was brought under control with the help of fire engines from Kathmandu and Lalitpur Metropolitan Cities. Along with the Nepal Police, teams from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Metropolitan Police were also deployed to extinguish the fire.
