Kathmandu: The Grade 12 examination has commenced. The National Examination Board (NEB) said the exam began without any disturbance on Sunday.

NEB allocated 1 thousand 5 hundred 99 exam centres across the nation, including in Japan, to conduct the Grade 12 exam. NEB Chairperson Mahasharam Sharma said 1 hundred 62 examination centres are allocated in Kathmandu and 11 centres in Manang and Mustang.

Based on the centre chairperson and assistant centre chairperson, and student population for the exam,  around 2 thousand employees, one office assistant at the examination, and 20 thousand security personnel are mobilised.

Likewise, NEB Chairperson Sharma said total 5 lakh 11 thousand 5 hundred 25 examinees, including 1 lakh 98 thousand 8 hundred 75 regular male students and 1 lakh 97 thousand 13 regular female students from 5,202 schools appeared in the examination, whereas from partial 1 lakh 15 thousand 6 hundred 17 students appeared in the examinations.

This year least number of examinees is 45 from Manang, while the most number of examinees is 68, 133 from Kathmandu.

Similarly, NEB’s  Controller Krishna Prasad Sharma said special arrangements were made for candidate with hearing impairment, visual impairment, mental retardation or other disbailtiies in the examinations.
