President Trump nominates Michael Watlz as UN Ambassador, Rubio as interim national security adviser

Kathmandu: President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Michael Waltz as US Ambassador to the United Nations and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as interim national security adviser.

President Trump made that announcement on Thursday during the first cabinet shuffle of his 2nd term. ABC News, citing its source, said that Waltz was expected to leave his post as national security adviser.

Taking on his social media, President Trump says, ‘ I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations, from his time in uniform on the battlefield in Congress and as my National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our National Interests first.’

He further wrote, ‘In the interim, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as National Security Advisor, while continuing his strong leadership at the State Department. Together we will continue to fight tirelessly to Make America, and the World SAFE AGAIN.’

Likewise, President Trump announcement to nominate Waltz as Ambassador after Waltz came under intense scrutiny for inadvertently adding a reporter to a signal chat with top Trump officials discussing a US military strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen.
