Kathmandu: The community schools, which were closed for 29 days due to the Nepal Teachers’ Federation’s strike, have resumed their learning activities.

As it is the first day of school, the attendance of students is lower. However, the community schools conducted classes as well as an enrollment campaign.

The admission procedure of community schools and other works was postponed, due to the teachers’ demonstration since April 3 (Chaitra 20).

Likewise, after a 9-point agreement between the agitating teachers’ federation and the government on April 30 (Baishakh 17), the demonstration was stopped.

However, Nepal School Staff Council expressed dissatisfaction with the agreement reached by the Federation with the government, and warned of announcing another demonstration.

Issuing a release on May 1 (Baishakh 18), Nepal School Staff Council (National Committee) rejected the agreement and the withdrawal of the demonstration as their demands were not addressed in the agreement with the government.
