Kathmandu: The International Criminal Court (ICC) has restricted ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan from publicizing a new application for an arrest warrant against Israel’s leaders.
An ICC judge issued the order on Tuesday. According to the Times of Israel, ICC judges told prosecutor Khan that he could no longer make public announcements regarding the application the arrest warrant.
The Guardian cited its sources as saying that the new order was issued after Khan was ready to issue a new request for order against Israeli suspects in connection with alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Earlier, Khan issued an arrest warrant against Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and the Hamas military leader, Mohammed Deif, for alleged war crimes related to the Gaza War in January 2025.
