Opposition parties register ‘urgent public importance’ in HoR on demands of teachers and doctors

Kathmandu: Opposition parties have registered a motion of urgent public importance in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting regarding the demands of teachers and doctors.

The CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepal Communist Party (Socialist), Rastriya Janamorcha, and Aam Janata Party jointly registered the proposal. They submitted it per Rule 71 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2079 BS.

The rule states,’ If any member wishes to discuss a matter of urgent public importance, they must submit a notice regarding the proposal to the Secretary at least two hours before the meeting begins, and the proposal must be supported by at least two members.’

Teachers, who have been protesting for 27 days demanding the enactment of the School Education Act, have registered a proposal of urgent public importance, criticizing the government’s indifference toward school education and its irresponsible approach to addressing the demands of doctors.
