Kathmandu: The Narayangadh–Butwal road, which was blocked due to a dry landslide in Nawalparasi, has reopened. The road resumed two-way traffic from Wednesday morning.

The road had been obstructed since Tuesday afternoon after a dry landslide occurred in the Daunne area of Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality–2, in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East). It was reopened for two-way traffic a day later.

According to Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal of the District Police Office, traffic was halted to clear the landslide debris as dry landslides continued to fall. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the road during the obstruction.

Currently, road expansion work is underway in the Daunne section, during which vehicular movement is halted from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
