The van (Ba Pra 01-006 Kha 7072) en route to Hetauda from Kathmandu fell some 200 metres down the road in the night, at 1:00 a.m. on Friday.

2 dead, 14 injured in electric van accident

Kathmandu: 2 people died while 14 others have been injured in an electric van (EV) accident that occurred at Dharampani of Makwanpurgadhi rural municipality-2.

The van (Ba Pra 01-006 Kha 7072) en route to Hetauda from Kathmandu fell some 200 metres down the road in the night, at 1:00 a.m. on Friday.

According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the van was heading to Makwanpur via Kanti Highway.  Nilam Devi Raut (50 years old) and Manushi Magar(13) died in an accident. Raut, who was seriously injured in the incident, breathed her last during treatment, while Magar’s lifeless body was recovered from the site.

A team led by police inspector Birendra Rayamajhi was mobilised towards the incident site immediately after receiving the information.

15 passengers were in the van. Police said among those receiving injury, 10 persons have been undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital and others at Sahakari Hospital in Makwanpur.
