Nepali Congress meeting concludes need for government reform and balanced appointment procedure

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has concluded that there is a need to improve the functioning of the government.

According to Nepali Congress Spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat,  a meeting of office bearers and former office bearers, held at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Thursday, reached the conclusion.

‘We conclude that there is a need to improve the government’s effectiveness and that it must deliver more robustly,’ said Mahat.

The meeting also concluded that there is a need for a balance in political appointments.

‘Since this is a coalition government, appointments cannot be made solely based on the Prime Minister’s decisions. There needs to be a balance in such matters. Coordination among coalition partners is essential. One party cannot have everything,’ he added.
