250 million rupees Truck scandal : Court to send driver Lama jail for pre-trial detention

Kathmandu: Truck driver Kushang Lama, who was arrested with dollars and euros worth 250 million rupees from Tokha, has been imprisoned.

The single bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Thakur Prasad Kharel ordered that the driver, Lama to be sent to jail for pre-trial detention.

Lama was arrested on March 17 (Chaitra 4, 2081) from Tokha Municipality -1, Jhor, with currency being hidden in a false compartment behind the driver’s seat.

Foreign currencies amounting to 250 million rupees confiscated

Likewise, Lama resident of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-1, Sindhupalchowk, was imprisoned in the gold scandal, but was released after serving imprisonment.
