Inaruwa: Three individuals involved in a shooting incident in the Devangunj Rural Municipality of the Sunsari district have been arrested.

According to Sunsari’s Superintendent of Police, Suman Kumar Timilsina, those arrested include 21-year-old Shiv Kumar Mehta of Devangunj Rural Municipality 7 and Raveen Kumar Yadav and Pintu Yadav of Devangunj-1. Shiv

Kumar Mehta was seriously injured during the shooting. He is currently undergoing treatment in Biratnagar under police supervision.

SP Timilsina said one group had been arrested, while three individuals from the other group involved in the incident are still at large, and the search for them is ongoing.

Among the shooters, Kameshwar Yadav and two others are absconding. He said both the arrested and the absconding individuals have been involved in various criminal activities in the border area.

A total of six people were involved in the incident. Preliminary investigation has revealed that all of them have criminal backgrounds and are listed as wanted in India.

SP Timilsina also mentioned that Raveen Yadav, one of those arrested, had previously been involved in marijuana smuggling and had only recently been released after being arrested. Police have stated that Mehta, who was injured in the shooting, is in critical condition.
