Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane has been imprisoned.

Lamichhane was imprisoned at Rupandehi District Custody, located at Bhairahawa, on Monday.

According to the District Police Office of Rupandehi, Lamichhane was imprisoned after the District Court Rupandehi issued a detention warrant for him. Lamichhane will remain in prison unless the court gives its final verdict.

Earlier, the Tulsipur High Court issued an order to send Lamichhane, who is accused of organising cooperative fraud, into custody on Friday.

The joint bench of Judge Ramesh Dhakal and Swekriti Parajuli issued the order to take Lamichhane into remand. Then, Police arrested Lamichhane from his residence in Budhanilkantha.
