Kathmandu: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has ruled out any other alternative to the current federal democratic republic in the country.

During a programme organized by the Federation of Indigenous Nationalities associated with his party, Chairperson Nepal reminded the present system was achieved after an enduring people’s struggle, movements, and sacrifice.

Nepal, also the former Prime Minister, asserted that the current democratic system was the best governance system to protect people’s rights and to drive socio-economic transformation. Indicating the regressive forces’ ongoing machination to reinstate an autocratic system, he warned that any political system curtailing people’s rights would not be acceptable under any circumstances.

The leader highlighted the importance of establishing a political party through the people’s struggle and the significance of mass mobilization, which he argued would be sustainable. He also spoke on various international practices regarding establishing and sustaining political parties and activism.

On a different note, Chair Nepal clarified that there is no possibility of a merger with any political parties unless there is uniformity in terms of the parties’ principles and course of action.
