Kathmandu: Hindu Devotees around the globe are celebrating Ram Navami on Sunday.

According to the Hindu scripture ‘Ramayana,’ the festival is being celebrated in memory of  “Maryada Purushottam” Shri Ram. Lord Ram is the incarnation of Lord Visnu. Based on 16 qualities, Ram is called Maryada Purushottam.

Lord Ram was born as an ordinary human being and displayed his immaculate character and conduct. He showed a path to the people about how one should follow dharma and lead a life of righteousness.

Likewise, Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya on the day of Chaitra Shukla Navami in Treta Yuga and killed the demon Ravana for the welfare of society.

Ram Temple, located in Battisputali, was crowded with devotees since the early morning. Devotees from different places came to worship Lord Shri Ram.
