PM Oli regarding India visit: Has someone put up barbed wire to stop it?

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he currently doesn’t have time to consider a visit to India due to his busy schedule.

Returning from a one-day official visit to Thailand and the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) summit on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli explained various reasons to journalists at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) that prevented his visit to India.

Journalists asked Oli when his India visit would take place.

In response, Oli said, ‘Sometimes one thing comes up, sometimes another. That’s the only reason. But outside, people are saying the India visit has been blocked. Has someone put up barbed wire to stop it? That’s not the case.’

When asked whether a visit to India could happen before the Sagarmatha Sambaad, he replied, ‘We’re quite busy. We have to prepare for the Sagarmatha Sambaad.’

Prime Minister Oli also reiterated that Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who was invited as the chief guest for the Sagarmatha Sambaad, will not be able to attend.
