PM Oli warns of taking legal action against former King Shah

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, addressing the National Assembly, stated that former King Gyanendra Shah must take full responsibility for the violent protests led by pro-monarchists.

Speaking in Monday’s session, PM Oli warned of legal action against the former King, alleging that he was primarily responsible for the March 28 (Chaitra 15) pro-monarchists’ protest in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

‘No one involved in criminal activities will be granted immunity—nor should they be. Former King Shah must also not be exempt from accountability,’ said PM Oli.

The Prime Minister said that investigations into those involved in the incident are ongoing and assured that the Home Minister will present a detailed report to Parliament at an appropriate time.

Emphasizing that even the former king must accept responsibility and that no one will be above the law, he reaffirmed his commitment to taking strict action against anyone found responsible for the incident.
