CPN (Maoist Centre): PM’s reply objectionable regarding Kulman’s dismissal

Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has stated that the response regarding the dismissal of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director (MD) Kulman Ghising was unsatisfactory.

Speaking in Parliament on Monday, MP Rekha Sharma said that the Prime Minister’s response was not convincing.

‘The Prime Minister’s reply was not satisfactory, as it discredited capable and patriotic employees. It is regrettable that the Prime Minister, without any factual basis, justified the removal of one official and the appointment of another, ‘ Lawmaker Sharma.

She further stated that her party was compelled to obstruct Parliament because the government was taking actions that weakened democracy instead of strengthening and refining it.

‘We had already demanded an answer from the Prime Minister before taking this issue to court. Strengthening democracy requires proper maintenance. It is the government’s responsibility to uphold democracy, but instead, its actions are fueling regressive forces,’ she added.
