Bishwa Prakash Sharma points out weakness of Speaker Ghimire in handling parliamentary proceedings

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress General Secretary and Member of Parliament (MP) Bishwa Prakash Sharma has pointed out the weakness of Speaker Devraj Ghimire in conducting parliamentary proceedings.

Speaking in Parliament on Monday, MP Sharma expressed concern over the Speaker’s handling of the House, stating that there were evident shortcomings.

‘There are certain procedures and rules for conducting Parliament. Standing up while the Prime Minister is speaking or demanding a Q&A session right after his remarks is not in line with the spirit of our parliamentary regulations. If the opposition has shown weakness by obstructing the House, then the Speaker has also demonstrated shortcomings. I humbly request that this be acknowledged,’ said MP Sharma.
