FSU Election in Padma Kanya: Journalists barred entering campus; Election Officer’s mobile turned off

Kathmandu: Voting for the Free Student Union (FSU) election is underway at Padma Kanya Multiple Campus. The voting began today (Thursday) after 8 AM.

However, journalists have been barred from entering the campus during the FSU election. Additionally, the election officer has turned off his mobile phone. This has made the making communication impossible.

In contrast, during the elections held at other campuses on Tuesday, the media had access. The election at Padmakanya, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed due to disputes.

The internal conflicts, within the Nepal Student Union; the student wing of the Nepali Congress, delayed the election.

However, there are reports that the voting is proceeding peacefully today.
