More than 400 people, including 4 senior leaders of Hamas, died in Israeli attack

Kathmandu: The death toll in Gaza from Israel’s extensive strike has exceeded 400.

The BBC cited the Hamas-run health ministry as giving an update on the number killed. But the number varies in its social media handles.

In Telegram, Hamas reports the death of 404 people. And the Hamas-run ministry adds that some victims are still trapped under the rubble. On WhatsApp, the number is 413.

Hamas said the United States “bears full responsibility for the massacres” in Gaza after it emerged Israel briefed the US on the strikes before launching them.

The statement says this “exposes the falsity of its claims about caring for de-escalation”.

According to Hamas affiliated media outlet, Palestinian, Under Secretary of the Interior Ministry Mahmoud Abu Wafah died in the Israeli attack.

4 senior leaders of Hamas also died in the attack. Israel launched air strikes in different areas of Gaza on Monday night.

Bahjat Abu Sultan, Director General of the Internal Security Service, Ahmed al-Hatta, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, and Issam al-Dalis, Head of Government Work Follow-up were the other Leaders to have been killed in the attack.
