One dies in road accident in Tinkune

Kathmandu: A person died in a road accident in front of Gairigaun Petrol Pump in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, Tinkune, this morning.

Spokesperson at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Apil Raj Bohara, said the deceased has been identified as Sukram Tamang, 26, of Panauti municipality-11 in Kavrepalanchowk, currently living at Dhapakhel in Lalitpur.

The accident took place when a tipper (Ra 1 Kha 2622) hit a motorcycle (Pra 2-02-003 Pa 6245) at 4:30 am.

Tamang died in the course of treatment at the Trauma Centre. Similarly, pillion rider Ramesh Tamang of Bethanchowk in Kavre was injured in the accident, said police.

He is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre. Police impounded the tipper from the cargo complex at Tribhuvan International Airport, and the driver has been absconding.
