Kathmandu: The teachers of the government schools have become agitated regarding the School Education Bill.

Teachers are protesting against the School Education Bill, advanced by the government, claiming that the bill did not address their demands.

 

Despite the 51-point agreement of the government with the teachers in 2075 (2018), teachers were compelled to lead a demonstration as the government stepped back from its commitment of addressing their demands while bringing the bill.

Members of Parliament also drew the government’s attention to not create an atmosphere of agitation among teachers at the time of the SEE.

School Education Bill

Madhav Sapkota, a Member of Parliament from the Maoist Centre, highlighted the situation and urged the government not to create circumstances that would provoke teachers at this critical time before the SEE. He also drew attention to the need for the immediate passage of the School Education Bill, ensuring that the demands of teachers are addressed as well.
