Myagdi: The Galeshwar Mahadev Temple, located in the Beni Municipality of Myagdi, is a famous religious site.

This religious site, situated on a single stone in a 9 ropani area along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, is especially a center of faith for followers of Hinduism.

According to local folklore, Lord Shiva meditated here. People also believed that this area was the place of meditation of the sage Pulastya. Therefore, it is regarded as a convergence of faith and history.

The shape of the Shivling in the temple is said to resemble a neck, which is why it is believed to be named ‘Galeshwar.’ Galeshwar Dham is considered one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

Not only the locals of Myagdi, but the people from various parts of Nepal, including Pokhara, Baglung and Parbat pay homage to the temple.

Around 10,000 devotees paid homage to the temple on the day of Shivaratri.
