‘Umlindo Kharani Ra Lemlemma’-Story of Myth, Tradition and Symbol (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: The staging of the drama ‘Umlindo Kharani Ra Lemlemma’ is underway, at Mandala Theatre.

The drama is inspired by the original traditions and myths of the Kirat Community. ‘Umlindo Kharani Ra Lemlemma’ reflects the ritual, patriarchal thinking, and mythical beliefs in the society.

Similarly, the drama, shows how questions will be raised in the interpretation of society when a myth turns into reality in an environment of normal lower class and family.

Thine Lhamo, Praya Deep Rai, Prayash Bantawa Rai, Dikgaj Khatri, Rinchen Kunchowk Moktan, Yuwa Hang Rai, Roshan Sangbo, Bal Bahadur Rai (Balu) and Ramila Moktan are the actors in the drama.

Milson Rai is the writer, artist Bijaya Baral is the producer, and Pashupati Rai is the director of the drama.

The staging of the drama began on February 21 (Falgun 9). The drama will be staged till March 16 (Chaitra 3) every day at 5:30 p.m. except on Monday. There is an additional show on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
