Demonstration seeking justice for Prakriti Lamsal (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: A demonstration has been organized, demanding justice for Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal, who was found dead in the hostel of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India.

All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary); ANNISU a student wing closer to the CPN (Maoist Centre), organized the demonstration demanding justice for Prakriti at Maitighar Mandala on Tuesday.

The demonstrators questioned the existence of the two-thirds majority of the government. They were enchanting slogans like “One has to go nowhere but India to seek Death”, “Diplomacy means nothing if students keep suffering!”, and “Stop Harrasment. It’s not a compliment. It’s a Harrasement.”

Prakriti’s Suspicious Death: Case filed against accused student and 2 guards

The suspicious death, on February 16 (Falgun 4), has raised questions regarding the inhuman treatment of Nepali students in KIIT. The incident has been fueling debate regarding the security of Nepali students in foreign lands.

People have also been pressurizing the government for a fair investigation of the case on social media platforms.
