President Paudel: CIAA will neither falter nor succumb to any pressure

Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has shared his belief that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) will neither falter nor succumb to any pressure or influence while carrying out its duties, regardless of the magnitude of the crime or the perpetrator.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the CIAA, President Paudel emphasized that the processes of investigation and prosecution should also be modernized as the nature and forms of corruption are evolving.

The President said that an unnecessary obsession with power, authority, and wealth leads individuals to misuse procedures, systems, and mechanisms, thereby fostering corruption.

He also pointed out that the rapid development and use of information technology have added complexity to corruption methods and trends.
