Prime Minister Oli directs Nepal Police for fair investigations

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed the Nepal Police to conduct fair investigations based on evidence and facts.

Inaugurating ‘The Blue Pavilion’ in the Nepal Police Club premises at Bhrikutimandap in the capital on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli directed them to work with determination in maintaining the rule of law and ensuring peace and security in the country.

‘You must act according to the expectations of the people. The public expects fairness and good behavior from the police. Therefore, work by placing the interests of the country and the people at the center in line with the constitution and the law,’ said Prime Minister Oli.

‘Conduct investigations confidently against any smugglers, corrupt individuals, and fraudsters. Work more effectively while ensuring peace, order, national interest, and unity in the country,’ said PM Oli.

Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need to establish the Nepal Police as the home for all police personnel. The pavilion, which was initiated four years back was constructed for Rs 750.87 million.

During the event, Prime Minister Oli released the second part of the history of the Nepal Police and honored officials, technicians, and builders who contributed to the construction of the building.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak expressed his commitment to quickly pass the amendment bill of the Nepal Police Act in Parliament, incorporating any constructive suggestions that may arise.

Addressing the same program, the Inspector General of Police, Basant Bahadur Kunwar, handed over a check for 7.4 million rupees to the Prime Minister for the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Present at the event were the Prime Minister’s chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, and MP Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, among others.
