According to Friends of Nature Executive Director Raju Archarya, the festival will help in the conservation of Latokosero and Huchil.

Dhanusha: The 12th conservation edition of Nepal Latokosero and Huchil (Owl and Eurasian eagle-owl) Festival 2081 has begun at Mithila Bihari Municipality 2 and 3.

According to the coordinator of the organizing committee, Dev Narayan Mandal, along with observing birds and nature, local endangered games and cultural songs and dances will be performed.

Various cultural performances, including dance and drama, will be performed by the students of the Institute of Forestry Studies, Pokhara Campus. The performances will be related to the Latokosero (Owl) conservation.

Likewise, a 1-foot-tall Latokosero robot has been kept in the exhibition.

The festival which has been celebrated in Nepal since 2012, will be celebrated in the Dhanusha district this year, under the ‘Mithila Wildlife of Trust’ and ‘Friends of Nature’

According to Friends of Nature Executive Director Raju Archarya, the festival will help in the conservation of Latokosero and Huchil (Eurasian Eagle Owl), which are poached and traded around large mammals.
